Tenets of Magic

Every time I open this typing pad, I think of writing “I don’t really know what to write about, maybe I should write that”, can you imagine? That’s next level negative work ethic or something.

Would you consider a creative endeavour work? It’s like playing a game when you’re in the process, and though it may be difficult, it doesn’t mean it’s not fun. People associate work with duty and seriousness. It’s something we must do. Yeah, we all have things that we must do. But why should work be restricted to imply: that which we don’t really wanna do but we’re going to do anyway or else..?

Here’s the thing. I also see certain things as work, the way the general population intends it. Even with writing this piece of blog I saw the duty and seriousness of it. I literally procrastinated on it for days. The reason why I don’t know what to talk about before actually typing, is that I don’t plan a specific topic to expand on. I just decide that I’m going to write, and whatever comes out, comes out. It has worked in making me produce numbers of posts, and decent length posts as well. Has it worked at popping off my creativity? I don’t know about that. I don’t know how unhinged my writing is. I don’t know how easily it reads, and how engaging it is. Certainly the latter two would only compliment creation. But unhinged? Does this stuff need to be so? Or is it just the way I want it to be?

Any of you creatives out there let me know if a dose of insanity is one ingredient of the “formula”. I guess there is no such thing as a set way to do things when it comes to new discoveries, inventions, paintings, music, etc. After all if you repeat the previous thing, you’ve just created a copy.

What does creativity even mean? Is it the process of creating? Why does only a small portion of the population call themselves creatives? Doesn’t everyone create? I created a satisfying skibidi on the toilet this morning, does it mean that I’m a creative, regardless of what I do? Who is the one that creates? Is it me? Or my body-mind?

In the Vedic traditions there is Shiva, the destroyer. There is also Brahman, the creator. Clearly one is creative, but I invite you to stretch your mind a little. Stay with me, it’s not complicated. If Shiva is the destroyer, hasn’t he created destruction? Indeed he’s also a creative. This may be considered by some of you a logical diarrhoea, but I don’t think it is. If you don’t believe me, or if you do but you want something following that, then just think about this. Sometimes you will destroy some things in order to create others. Mothers are an excellent example, because they’re also considered the creators of life. In order to have a new baby, the mother will destroy her health. Now, this is probably not universally true, but statistically…definitely. I’ve heard of some women who look in great shape after giving birth, but you can’t convince me that’s the case for most women. You see, it’s a sacrifice. Sacrifice is destruction.

Let me give the boys a more personal example. If you are on certain paths, you will need to give up some things. In order to become who you want to be, you will need to let go, or destroy the version of yourself that interferes with the dream version of you. Lust for example, and maybe I’m wrong, does not coexist with love in the heart. When my heart is filled with lust, I don’t feel no love. When my chest is filled with love, the lust is destroyed. So here we see a sacrifice of one thing for another, a destruction of one over the other.

Some European guy, probably Newton, said that matter cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be transformed. This also makes sense, but it contradicts everything else I’ve said up until now. The suggestion here changes everything. Does it mean for example, that in order to replace lust with love, we need to transmute the energy? That we don’t need to destroy one to make way for the other? That we don’t need to create the new one? What happens to love when it’s not in my heart? Yes, we transmute the lust into it, but does love already exist somewhere in the system, just floating around? Or are they both just dualistic opposites, where it’s actually just one thing that we see as two faces of the same coin? This last one is incredible to explore.

Anyway, I think these questions are super interesting, and worth diving into. It would be awesome to get other minds involved in this quest, but I know that right now my blog is still taking baby steps. I’ll do whatever I’ll do to make this bigger. I want to explore US by “using” us. Putting our minds to use. I hope you don’t consider it exploitation. For now though, for introspective purposes, this has been more of a journal. These questions have risen to my attention, and they’re worth looking into by looking into myself.

So we can make this a place of greater exploration of ourselves, and to give me some extra motivation to be as ME as possible, share this post with your family, co-workers, partners, school friends, online friends, anyone else you want. More than anything, let your mind wander in these questions, ask even more questions, you may even catch something that is completely revolutionary…that only you could have found!
